Children’s activities in Barking & Dagenham this summer


Barking & Dagenham have a Holiday and Food (HAF) Programme that is free for children and young people who live or attend a school in the borough and qualify for benefit-related free school meals. If not, there are still paid places available for all other people interested.

The borough of Barking and Dagenham has a variety of organisations that offer enjoyable, enriching, and wholesome activities to keep children active, making friends, and having fun.

The following are for children aged 5-12.

Artbash Camp Bounce

Artbash bounce in barking and dagenham

ARTBASH Camp BOUNCE will be retuning this Summer for the Holiday Activity and Food programme. Their four-day art Camp will explore different art workshops, delve into some energetic movement, and provide the young ones with some much-needed bounce throughout the Summer.

Future Youth Zone

Future Youth Zone in Barking and Dagenham

This Summer, Future Youth Zone will be providing a selection of free recreational activities including football, basketball, track and field, art, music, dance, cooking and much more. They want young people to experience a healthy and joyful atmosphere complete with good food and positive mentoring from their trained youth coaches and leaders.

Bow Arts

Bow Arts Barking and Dagenham

This Summer, their holiday programme will give children the opportunity to creatively explore and respond to the themes of heathy food and culture.

Students will be able to dig into various subjects with helpful Bow Arts educators through the use of hands on art activities and workshop atmosphere. During the five day program, attendees will be asked to team up with classmates and at the end to present their final projects to their families.
