Dagenham reede road stabbing

Reede Road, RM10 has been cordoned off by the Metropolitan Police after a male was stabbed at approximately 1am this morning (6th May). The Met have not formally released the condition of the victim but it is strongly believed he has passed away. Dagenham Heathway station is open but local residents may need to take an alternative route to get there.

There is an additional cordon at the top of Pasloes Avenue.

A spokesperson for the Met has said it is unclear whether the cordon will be lifted by the end of the day.

Witnesses have alleged to have seen a ‘fight’ between several males and bladed articles being drawn, in a conflict spanning Reede Road and Parsloes Avenue. Some allege sadly seeing a male’s body on Parsloes Avenue, but we stress this is all speculative at this time.

There was a heavy police and ambulance presence early in the day, and large numbers of police are still in the area. It is unclear whether any arrests have been made.

We will follow this story as it progresses.
