Ilford Town Centre has been taped off after a stabbing this morning near Chapel Road. A man between 40-50 needed medical attention following stab wounds on his leg.

Clements Lane has a cordon in place to allow forensic detectives to gather evidence, as no arrests have been made at this time, and the victim has since been discharged from hospital.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 12.11am this morning (26 June) to reports of a stabbing in Winston Way, Ilford.”

“We sent an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer to the scene. We also dispatched a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance, which consisted of a paramedic and a doctor in a car.

“The first paramedic arrived in less than four minutes. We treated a patient for leg wounds and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority.”
