Man ‘forced way into flat then beat, raped, and robbed woman’

by
Michael Alleyn

Michael Alleyn, 26, of no fixed address, forcefully entered the home of a woman he barely knew in North London before subjecting her repeatedly to violent rapes. He was sentenced to 11 years and 2 months for two counts of rape, grievous bodily harm, and theft.

Alleyn headed to the victim’s supported living accommodation in Enfield in the early hours of June 9, 2022. The victim was asleep but awoke to answer the door before the offender barged in. He punched her directly in the face before violently raping her twice. He stole her bank card before leaving.

The victim had a fractured nose and various facial injuries and was rushed to the hospital. People heard screaming coming from her room at the time of the attack.

The Met traced Alleyn to a property on Thornsett Road, Penge, SE London after he went on the run. Officers spotted him on the street before he attempted to flee yet again.

The offender initially denied all involvement in the rape but forensic analysis linked him via DNA and he was thus charged on June 13, 2022. He later pled guilty.

Detective Constable Ed Day of the Metropolitan Police said: “The victim was alone and asleep when she was awoken and subjected to a terrible attack by Alleyn, who was loosely known to her.

“Her bravery throughout the course of the investigation following that awful ordeal has been incredible. We will continue to offer her support.

“Violence against women and girls is one of the Met’s top priorities and we are committed to tackling it. All women have the right to feel safe at home or in public and when incidents do occur, we will take action to investigate and punish offenders.”
