Rainham Leisure Centre prepare for July opening

Rainham Leisure Centre

Rainham Leisure Centre is nearing completion in preparation for its scheduled launch next month.

Councillor Ray Morgon, Leader of Havering Council, joined Cabinet members, local ward members, and Tom Fletcher, Area Contract Manager, Everyone Active, for a tour ahead of the opening next month.

All ‘dry side’ facilities, including a dance and spin studio and a 75-station fitness suite, will be completed and handed over to Everyone Active, the company that runs the borough’s leisure centres, on Saturday 1 July 2023, with ‘wet facilities’, such as the six-lane swimming pool, opening to the public later this summer.

Councillor Ray Morgon, Leader of Havering Council, stated:

“We continue to be impressed by the new facilities at Rainham Leisure Centre and seeing the project delivered on time is such fantastic work by all the contractors involved.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing the centre being enjoyed as a place to stay healthy through exercise, and also somewhere for people of all ages to meet and socialise.

“This will be a wonderful asset not only for the community in Rainham, but for the whole borough.”

Tom Fletcher, Area Contract Manager at Everyone Active, said:

“It’s an exciting time for Everyone Active as we can physically see all the hard work onsite coming together ahead of the opening.
